Dear reader:
I am a Certified NetWare Engineering looking for full-time employment as a
Network Engineer or LAN Administrator. I have two-years experience with
network design and implementation for small, medium, and large-scale
installations.
I have a broad range of PC experience including complete configuring of
hardware and software for IBM PCs and compatibles (ISA and EISA) and PS/2
series. I am able to configure any hardware peripheral (modem, SCSI,
printers, tape drives) for proper operation. I have also worked on alpha and
beta testing of several products (Windows, MS Word, Excel, MS Project) to
assess their suitability for the networking environment. After testing, I
integrated most of these products into an existing network.
My networking experience, though limited to two years, has been extensive. I
am fully capable of managing the physical aspects of a network. I have
installed network wiring and used network sniffers to troubleshoot
connectivity problems. I have administered networks under NetWare, IBM LAN
Server, and PCLP platforms, and upgraded several existing networks to use
Novell products. To ensure the success of these endeavors, I set up a
network lab providing a stable testing environment that is still in use today.
I have also interfaced with non-technical users to train them in the basics
of using networks and to show them how to realize the full potential of their
new system.
Though I have only recently been certified with Novell products, my thorough
networking background allowed me to take and pass all five core tests and two
elective tests on the first try in a mere five weeks time. This directly
reflects my dedication and persistence in "getting the job done" and
accomplishing in a short time what may take others much, much longer to
complete.
I have skills in the Macintosh and UNIX operating systems as well, including
providing connectivity for these platforms under the NetWare network.
You will also notice that I am an experienced programmer. I have been able to
blend this talent with my networking abilities to write utilities for network
management. I hope you will agree that this makes me a well-rounded computer
engineer able to perform superbly in any computing arena.
I would like to move to a company that will fully utilize my talents and
challenge me to excel. I would hope that the company will also afford me the
opportunity to learn and grow beyond my current abilities. Though I would
prefer to work in the Eastern US, I will not overlook any good opportunity
solely on the basis of location. I am single and a renter, so relocation is
not a problem. Please consider the enclosed resume.
Thank you.
